Practical Information



To Poznan by Air

There are direct flights from Dusseldorf to Poznan and from Warsaw to Poznan. Possible air routes can be found at Polish Airlines LOT
schedule.


To Poznan by RAIL

If you plan to come to Poznan by rail please try to find the most sutable connection according to the
schedule.

Route from Warsaw to Poznan by rail.

  1. Get to the railway station "Warszawa Centralna"
  2. You can buy a train ticket at a ticket office called KASA (pl. KASY), you must pay in cash. There are ticket offices in the main hall.
  3. To reach the main hall follow the arrows "Kasy".
  4. In the main hall there is an exchange office called "KANTOR". There are also ATMs where one can get some cash from major credit cards.
  5. Platforms are called PERON, pl. PERONY.
  6. There is an information desk in the main hall.
  7. You should pay special attention to your luggage and money during the whole trip and especially at the railway station !!!
  8. There are three hotels around the station: Marriott, Holiday Inn, and Forum; each within a 10 minute walk distance.
  9. Take a train to Poznan according to the schedule.
  10. Have a save journey.

Polish Currency

The official Polish currency is "zloty" (PLN). Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, shops and restaurants. Foreign currency can be exchanged in banks and exchange offices, called "KANTOR". There should be no problem with finding an ATM to get some cash from your credid card. VISA, Eurocard, MasterCard, Cirrus, Eurocheque are commonly accepted. American Express is accepted only by ATMs with logo EURONET.


TAXI

Being at the airport we recomend you to contact the office of the Airport Cab Service (there should be one in the main hall) or ask for a Radio Taxi. Radio Taxi services are also available at rail station. This is the mostly recommended way to order a taxi.

There is a special shuttle-bus from the International Airport Warszawa-Okecie to the central railway station Warszawa Centralna. This bus is easy to recognize because of its Airport City Bus inscription. There is a bus stop in front of the main arrival hall exit. It runs from 6 a.m. till 11 p.m. every 20 minutes on working days and every 30 minutes during week-ends and holidays. The ticket costs a few PLN including your luggage. The tickets are available on the bus from the bus driver.
